OHT required external expertise to manage and operationalize a growing list of new laws affecting health care services and benefits for Veterans. The office needed a partner capable of rapid scale-up, structured planning and timely delivery to meet federal mandates and Congressional reporting requirements. Aptive was selected to provide mission-critical operational support for legislative rollout.
Aptive delivered process optimization, efficiency consulting and project execution for each assigned legislative mandate. Our team collaborated closely with OHT leadership to ensure alignment across policy, planning and implementation.
We facilitated cross-team coordination by hosting recurring meetings, maintaining project trackers and managing risk logs. Our consultants developed standardized templates, reports and communication tools to support timely execution and documentation. We also used project management platforms such as MS Project and the Integrated Healthcare Portfolio Management site to track milestones and guide strategic planning.
To ensure internal alignment, Aptive produced briefings, SOPs, guidebooks and messaging materials for field use. Our team supported VHA communications efforts with timelines, FAQs and elevator pitches, which helped stakeholders understand and apply legislative directives.
We worked directly with OHT and implementation teams to build schedules tied to legislative mandates and the VHA concurrence process. Our contributions fed into the Legislative Implementation Team (LIT) dashboard, where leaders monitored progress and elevated risks for mitigation.
