How can a company help employees find information about its benefits and HR policies and procedures more quickly and easily?
Solution
Blue Spark Labs created a generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot employees can use to ask about leave policies, onboarding processes and other HR issues; get clarification about code of conduct, data privacy, compliance regulations and other policies; and request specific information from company documents and sources.
The chatbot retrieves data from a vector database using a retrieval-augmented generation model. The chatbot can access specific information from documents and sources relevant to HR and company policies. To answer questions, the chatbot uses OpenAI capabilities, generating responses with context from the vector database. This process ensures accurate and context-aware replies.
Outcome
By providing quick and accurate responses to HR and policy-related questions, the chatbot reduces employees’ need to search manually or contact HR for information. Using the chatbot also ensures employees receive consistent and up-to-date information. Finally, employees can ask questions anytime, 24/7. Having current and readily available information may also improve employee understanding of — and, therefore, compliance with — company processes and procedures.
How can Aptive help a client enhance services for callers to a suicide prevention hotline?
Solution
Blue Spark Labs developed a mobile mental health and suicide prevention app to provide pre- and post-crisis mental health support that includes suicide safety planning and screening, a treatment and services locator, therapy tools and the ability to chat with 988 crisis center staff through the app itself.
Outcome
The client can extend suicide-prevention outreach by using the app in some of the following ways:
- Schools can provide a QR code to middle and high school students on the first day of school. Using the code would provide students with mental health support and knowledge of suicide prevention and the 988 hotline, with reminders to download quarterly.
- Employers could offer the 988 app to employees in occupations with high suicide rates, such as agriculture, mining and construction.
- Primary care patients could use suicide and substance abuse screenings on the 988 app and send results to their providers. In addition, providers would have a tool to give patients who are expressing suicidal thoughts or presenting concerning, pre-crisis behaviors and depression.
How can a company automate resume data scraping to save time and increase efficiency?
Solution
Blue Spark Labs designed a tool to extract information from employees’ resumes and store them in a data set the company can access for work on current or future contracts.
Outcome
The company can more accurately process multiple resumes at a time, saving hours of manual work from a time-consuming process prone to errors.
How can a company’s sales and contract management team automate its processes to get more done in less time?
Solution
Blue Spark Labs designed a Python application for Aptive’s sales and contract management team. The tool automates the extraction and processing of open deal data from the Pipedrive Application Programming Interface (API), uploading the data to a SharePoint calendar to enhance visibility and management. Pipedrive is an easy-to-use, visual sales platform to help users streamline their processes and get more done. Pipedrive API lets users connect their apps, systems and software with Pipedrive.
Outcome
The Aptive team can use API to share and integrate data and optimize tools, automate sales processes, create new leads and extend and customize Pipedrive. The application streamlines sales and contract management, saving a company time and increasing efficiency.
How can Aptive help a client save time and money using AI tools to automate the process of converting information from handwritten forms to digital forms?
Solution
Blue Spark Labs leveraged cutting-edge, AI-driven technology aimed at revolutionizing document processing to streamline the conversion of handwritten forms into structured PDFs. With Hyperscience’s proprietary machine learning models, we can efficiently extract data from intricate handwritten documents with unparalleled precision and automatically copy the data over to digital form. This transformative technology not only accelerates operational efficiency but also ensures the integrity and reliability of processed data.
Outcome
Within the first three months, the technology seamlessly processed 115,000 claims, the equivalent of over one million pages of data. By refining our system, we consistently exceed a remarkable 96% accuracy rate and an automation level of 99%. These advancements have translated into financial savings of $45 million annually for the client. In addition, the project has profoundly impacted the client’s workforce, empowering over 800 employees to focus on higher-value tasks and fostering a sense of purpose in their reconfigured roles.
